Question:

I socked a wooden door and my hand's been hurting for 6 weeks. It's not broken. Why does it hurt?

My right hand is not broken. It never got swollen or purple. I iced it a few minutes after I socked the door. My hand only feels a bit of pain when someone gives me a firm handshake or if I put some pressure on my index finger. I feel a bit of discomfort on the area between my fingers and my wrist. I also feel a little discomfort around that area. Why does it hurt?

Answers:

It will stop hurting once you figure out how to control your temper. Seriously, the muscles/tendons in your hand are over-stressed and/or inflamed. If you can take plain old aspirin, that would help as much as any other otc.
