How long should you wait after breaking your arm before you ride a bicycle?!

Question:

How long should you wait after breaking your arm before you ride a bicycle?

My son is 6 and I feel sorry for him, he has nothing to do. If the bike is out of the question any other ideas on what to do?

Answers:

Once it is in the cast for a few weeks and there's no pain, then it should be okay depending on the type of break. Ask your son's orthopedist what is or isn't safe for him to do while he's in a cast. When he gets the cast off, he should probably take it easy for a week or so until he gets his strength back so that he doesn't re-injure it. I hope this helped!
