Who takes pain meds every day? What are you taking and for what kind of pain.?!

Question:

Who takes pain meds every day? What are you taking and for what kind of pain.?

What is the dosage you take and for how long have you been taking it. Does is provide effective relief and how do you keep your liver/kidneys healthy?

Answers:

I take Oxycontin 40 mgs and OxyFast Solution 20 mgs/mL. I am about to add Actiq Oralettes (for an off label use). All this is for Pelvic Congestion SYndrome, which is a very painful condition like varicose veins in the uterus. I don't take anything with Tylenol or any other adjunct medication (like Ibuprofen or Naproxen) in it, just pure opiates, so my kidenys and liver are safe. If I need an extra "boost" I can take the OTC medications like Tylenol or Ibuprofen every now and then without worry. These medications have given me my life baack. WIthout them I could not do even the simplest tasks every day, but now my pain level is a 1 on a bad day, so yes I'd say they are effective. I've been on the Oxycontin for a year, they just increased my breakthrough medication to the OxyFast a month ago, (before that I was on Oxy IR tablets) and we'll be adding the Actiq on Friday.
