My daughter works for dicks sporting goods and she cuts her hand with a box cutter at work and she had to have stiches,now she went to a doctor and he said she cannt return to work untill he says so beings the cut was deep and can get infected easy.So she asked her boss about workmans comp and they told her to take personnal time and vaca time for the time out!!What happened to workmans comp??It happened at wok shouldnt she been able to apply for it??

You should speak to someone in the Employee Ralations Department (a part of Human Resources). They generally deal with all Worker's Comp issues. She very well may be entitled but her manager just may not be clear about the policy. The policy could differ from Part-timers to Full-timers but it should not make a difference in this case. Go to their website and get this information or from a store manager. Sometimes the chain stores don't have a Human Resource Department on site.
