My legs hurt at night. This has been happening for 2 weeks? What can I do to sto!

Question:

My legs hurt at night. This has been happening for 2 weeks? What can I do to stop it?

I'm 21 years old and usually have trouble sleeping at night but never had trouble with my legs cramping like this but its happening every night.

They're not exactly "cramping" but when I lay down at night they start hurting and whats weird is that they will start jerking and i cant control it. And they just ache, no matter what position I am in, it feels like no blood is getting to my legs or something.

I've tried stretching, sleeping on the couch, drinking hot tea with milk before bed, anything to relax my muscles. Its been going on for about 2 weeks! Is it a vitamin defiency or something? Like low iron? I just want to fix it. Please help, thanks :-)

Should have mentioned this before, but I dont really believe in taking pills for things like this...I dont belive it is "restless leg syndrome" (dont really even think there is such a thing) but I just think I have a vitamin defiency or something like that.

Thanks for the helpful answers...I dont eat a lot of calcium and I'm not fond of bananas (potassium) so I think that may be my problem. Thank you!

Answers:

Try taking a calcium supplement, I had a very similar problem and it worked for me.
