Ongoing face skin/muscle problem?!

Question:

Ongoing face skin/muscle problem?

I've had a longrunning face problem. it feels like (mainly) my eyebrows, forehead, and cheeks are stiff. not just stiff, but tight, and like its being pressured downward. my eyebrows feel so tight and heavy sometimes that i have to manually use my hands to stretch them and move them upwards.

i've had this problem since i was 15 or 16. i'm 18 now. i started to go to skin doctors/normal doctors this year, i've gotten skin cream, that helps the tightness some, but the heaviness still doesn't go away. could it be something wrong with my muscles, and not just my skin? i'm just getting tired of going to doctors and getting prescriptions that don't completely fix the problem. this has gotten so bad that i have difficulty making expressions, and i'm afraid it may permanently alter my face. i don't look weird or anything, but the heaviness feels like torture sometimes. i'm going to a muscle doctor instead of a skin doctor this month. does anyone know what this could be? any help would be good

also, when I wake up from sleep, my eyebrows are heavy and have gone descended, it takes massaging/stretching to make them feel more normal

and my skin becomes extremely tight after i take a shower, so i know the skin is *part* of the problem

Answers:

I've never heard of this before. Definately go to some kind of muscle doctor. Get second and third opinions.

As far as the skin feeling tight, try getting a special super moisturizing gel or lotion that is made for your face (instead of just regular body lotion). If you feel up to it, go to the clinique counter at a department store and ask for something called Moisture Surge. It's a great gel that really helps hydrate your face skin without making it feel weighted down. Tell them it's for your sister or girlfriend or mom or something. It's not like a makeup, it's a lotion, so you shouldn't feel too weird buying it. :)

Good Luck with everything!
