Question:
I have a sharp pain on my lower back, right at the top of my back side should i be worried ??
Answers:
Could be a prolapsed lumbar disc (the squishy cushion between the vertebrae protruding a bit and getting trapped). If you get a pain which travels across your lower bum and down your leg - that is sciatica caused by pressure on or inflammation of the sciatic nerve (it's the longest nerve in your body).
Use paracetamol (or aspirin if you can take it - quicker at reducing inflammation), rest as much as possible, get your best beloved to rub the afflicted area with anti-inflammatory creams from pharmacy (might not cure it but have fun trying!) and make an appointment with your doc to get it confirmed.
If he says it's a prolapsed disc, you may need some help from a physical terrorist. Waiting times NHS are inclined to be lengthy but sports injuries clinics are marvellous if you can afford it.
