What's the best that helps the itching from oxycodone? I don't have hives or a rash but I still itch pretty bad even after my Dr. reduced the mg. I have benedryl 25mg, hydroxizine 25mg, and claritin 10mg. Also can I take more than 10mg of claritin or more than 50mg of benedryl?

Yes, you can take more than 50 mgs of Benadryl. For sleep, some doctors will recommend up to 100 mgs, but it will make you extremely drowsy, especially along with the Oxycodone. The Hydroxyzine is good, you can take 50 mgs of that if you need to, but again, it will make you drowsy. With the Claritin, you can take 2 if you need to, but more than 10 mgs may make you drowsy, whereas the 10 mgs will not.
The itching is a very common side-effect. It's worst for me on my nose. As long as you don't have hives or a rash, it's not an allergic reaction and it's safe to keep taking. Just take the antihistamines-- with care, because of the drowsiness-- if it's really bothersome.
