Femoral nerve block side effects?!

Question: Femoral nerve block side effects?
I hand an ACL reconstruction done with a total meniscectomy done on the medial meniscus yesterday and a repair to the lateral meniscus. I had a femoral nerve block along with general anesthesia. They said that the block will last from 12 to 48 hours. It has been about 15 hours now and .I feel like the block is wearing off. The sensation is coming back in my leg and the pain has been excruciating. am not allowed to bear weight on my leg for 4 weeks. they have me on Norco 10/325-2 tabs every 4 to 6 hours, 25 mg tab of phenergan every 6 hours, 50mg benadryl every 4 hours, flexeril every 8 hours and 800 mg ibuprofen in between does of the Norco. My knee has been twitching like crazy and i would just like to know if this is normal once this block starts wearing off

i had a nerve block for my ankle when i had surgery 5 weeks ago. you start getting the sensation back it will get super tingly and it twitches like crazy which hurts. it will go away after a few hours or a day. just keep icing it helps with the twitching pain.

Yeah, get those pain meds on board. You may also ask for a muscle relaxant (like Flexeril) if you think the muscle tightness and twitching adds to your pain.

It's normal to have sore muscles after surgery, and I think that aspect of pain is undertreated.
