Why do my legs twitch before I go to sleep? Should I go see a doctor about it?!

Question: Why do my legs twitch before I go to sleep? Should I go see a doctor about it?
This doesnt happen during the day or even if im just laying down. It happens EXACTLY when I'm putting myself to sleep. They just twitch, sometimes making my whole body shake. I did start a new job that involves a lot of standing but so did my last job. I tried buying expensive shoes and feet soles but yet they still twitch. I'm also a type 1 diabetic. At first I thought it was dehydration, then realized I drink a lot of water it can't be. Anyone have any ideas?

Answers:

The problems happen because of the muscles, not the shoes. You can have tight back muscles and when you lay down and take the stress off of them they suddenly take the jump in getting to relax. It happens mainly with muscles that are tight so you have to free up the muscles in your back, it's your lower back causing this to happen, and the pains and jumps should stop happening. Here's how to free up those muscles:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Could be Restless Leg Syndrome. If it's interfering with your sleep, see a doctor, they have some medicines for it now.

its pretty common tons of people have it its called restless leg syndrome its nothing to worry about
