How should i help my injured son go to the bathroom?!

Question: How should i help my injured son go to the bathroom?
My 11 year old son was just recently injured in a horrible bike accident when he was riding home from school a few weeks ago. Anyway he broke his left leg which goes all the way up to his thigh, the doctor stated that he needs to be in this big bulky cast for atleast 6 weeks. So this invoves me having to help him get around and be there when he needs somthing (which is completely fine) but were having a bit of trouble when he needs to the bathroom because it I have to hold up his leg up while he sits on the toilet to do his business. It somtimes also hurts for him when he is trying to pass stool in an awkward position.

I talked to my son about this and he dosnt want me to watch him or be in the room while he does his bussiness, and I very much understand that xD

So I was thinking if it would be better to just put him in some depends (diapers) and when he is all finished I can just change him. If not can someone please suggest some ideas on what I should do? Thanks so much if I can get some answers :)

I haven't had experience with this, but as I was reading was wondering if there's any way to prop up his leg so you can leave the room and then come back in when he's finished? Even if it's on a crate or couple of plastic buckets or chair with padding? Perhaps give him a towel or other covering if that's an issue?

Also, just a thought, wet wipes are always handy, especially when it matters for hard to reach places. Added reassurance.

Hope he heals well and quickly.
