Can taking percocet for a long period of time kill u?!

Question: Can taking percocet for a long period of time kill u?
Answers:

I googled this and all i found for long term effects of percocet are addiction and loss of sex drive, if taken as prescribed.
the addiction part is pretty serious because of the physical withdrawals.
it does seem to have some side affects for some people...irritability, drowsiness, blurred vision...and some people have seriouse reactions to it but these show up immediately. Some of these are paranoia. Delusions, renal failure. These seem to be like allergic reactions and are rare.
really the addiction is the most serious thing. The withdrawals sound much like heroin withdrawals, but were described by someone who had been on them for abt 5 years.
all in all, other than the physical and psychological addiction factor, its less dangerous than tylenol as long as u don't take more than ur supposed to.

Becoming addicted to meds that contain acetaminophen is one reason physicians are careful about prescribing it. Liver damage is one of the main concerns doctors have with long term use.

You are also at risk of taking other meds that contain acetaminophen without perhaps realizing it and this can lead to overdosing which can be fatal. Combining percocet with alcohol should be avoided.

If you develop liver problems [for other reasons] then you would be wise to get off the percocet.

Can percocet kill you? Overdosing can. Long term use may lead to other complications such as irreparable liver damage which could eventually kill you. Whenever you become physically dependent upon a drug that acts as a pain modulator there is always the risk that it will become ineffective requiring you to either up the dosage or find a more potent pain reliever.

not if you take it as directed, but it is very easy to become addicted to so be careful and only use when needed.
