Head lice - am I safe?!

Question: Head lice - am I safe?
Yesterday, unfortunately, I had to go pick my niece up from school because her and many others ended up with head lice. Luckily she doesn't have a big case of it, not a whole lot of nits and only a few bugs. So we treated her hair with the over the counter rinse that has to be repeated in about a week.

My question is - am I safe from getting lice because alot of times she will crawl into bed with me through the night? I checked her this morning and didn't find anything but she will probably be a "risk" for the next week or so?

Thanks.

Answers:

wash the bedding on a hot wash ie above 60
treat all your family hair
you do not need to buy another lice product just leave conditioner on everyone hair for 10 minutes then comb through then rinse out
do this several times a week for 2weeks
wash all clothing well as well head lice are not choosy whose head they end up on whether clean hair or dirty they are not bothered!!
best wishes

You are not only a risk you most certainly have head lice. But don't fret head lice is a safe friend to your scalp. You shouldn't to get rid of it. You should be more welcome to it. Accept it into your home; make it a welcome guest. But don't get to close to it, because most lice have lice on their heads.

You are still at risk, as those suckers can jump and a close proximity like that is a concern

How old is she that she needs to come into your bed?

I'd definitely take precautionary measures and vacuum/wash things. Never be too safe.

make sure all sufaces are cleaned, beds pillows couches blankets carpets, they are tenacious little buggers
