How to treat a gash over an eye at home?!

Question: How to treat a gash over an eye at home?
My boyfriend got into what I'm guessing was a fight and he has a gash over his eye. It's like between his eyebrow and his eye. It's still bleeding and he's holding gauze on it now and the bleeding's slowed but hasn't stopped completely. What do we do to get it to stop bleeding and healing? Can this be done at home or does a doctor need to see it/stitch it up?

Answers:

All you have to do is wash the area clean.. Softly dry it.. disinfect it.. Put neosporin on it.. And bandage the cut tightly together.. Make sure the entire gash/cut is tightly taped/bandaged to the point where the cut will be closed shut.. Keep it like that for about a week and you'll notice the cut/gash healing itself shut. It'll have a tiny scar.. The tighter you tape the skin together, the smaller the scar.
By the way.. Make sure you reapply neosporin and new tape/bandages every or every other day. But the first time leave it there for a couple of days.. So the healing process can develop without interruptions. Hopes this helps.
