Do blood thinners kill pain?!

Question: Do blood thinners kill pain?
I know that ibuprofen kills pain and thins blood, but I'm not sure if this is because blood thinners kill pain, pain killers thin blood, or the two are totally unrelated. Also, do blood thinners raise blood pressure?

Answers:

Aspirin kills some pain and also thins blood, but blood thinners such as coumadin, (warfarin) and heparin do not kill pain.
Blood pressure is not affected by blood thinners, but might be affected by too much aspirin.

Wife is a retired nurse and on blood thinners.

You are talking about two different subjects. Ibuprofen does thin the blood but not at the rate you think. When you have an accumulation of inflammation tissue the thinning of that tissues/blood helps to relieve the pain. If you are talking about a true blood thinner like Cumodian then it does not act as a pain reliever because ot its chemical makeup It travels very rapidly throughout the body and is disposed of quickly. That is why you have to have your blood taken everyday to day adjust your dosage,. Its main purpose to to get rid of a clots or keeping them from forming...

ibuprofen's main effects are to calm inflammation & pain. one of the unrelated side effects is an effect on clotting.
it isn't considered a true blood thinner, and no, as a rule, blood thinners don't stop pain. aspirin is the exception.

The two are totally unrelated. Blood thinners are used to thin the blood, thus reducing chance of heart attack. Do they raise BP? Depends on which drug, but to my knowledge, generally no.
