Can some1 explain me wht is Hernia?!

A hernia is a hole in the abdominal wall where a part of your stomach passes through and is seen as a bulge. In men, the hole is often found next to the scrotum where a part of the intestine will pass through and into the scrotum or a testicle could pass through the hole and lodge itself in the stomach cavity. When you hear of a Hitel hernia, it is a hole in th diaphragm where a part of the stomach passes through and causes acid reflux. In most cases, a Hitel hernia could be left without surgery, and daily medications such as Prilocec or Previcid is prescribed to stop acid reflux from occurring, but lowe hernias should be surgically repaired since the could strangulate the part of the intestine or testicle if passed through causing a life threatening infection or a blockage to the lower bowel or bladder.

Its a weakness in the abdominal wall , the contents which normally lie inside this wall , slip out through this weak point , giving rise to a swelling which at times disappears on lying down. It can some day get stuck , leading to an emergency operation , so it should be timely treated.
