Question: My legs cramped up, and I don't know what happened.?
So, I take the public transit everyday from school, and I usually take like a brief 30min nap or so, so I just happened to wake up and it was exactly my stop, so as I was in a hurry to get to the door so I don't miss my stop, my legs suddenly cramped up and it was really painful and I was at the door, I fell at the door and when it opened I fell off the bus. The bus driver asked if I was okay, and I just told him my leg fell asleep, I was a little embarassed and I hurried and walked across the street. I was in a lot of pain, and so I fell again and I just sat down for a good 15 minutes for the pain to wear off. Afterwards I felt like it wasn't as painful anymore, however my right ankle area is still in quite a bit of pain.

And I really don't know what happened to me and such, I'm usually pretty active, and I'm not fat or extremely skinny.

125lb - 5"6 tall
so I don't really think I'm fat, or if that has any relation to it, but yeah.. It really hurt a lot.
my right ankle hurts a lot to walk on it still, so I take really small steps with it. and yeah.

So I was wondering if this would mean that I had like some health problems or such?
and should I tell my parents to get it checked out? Some recent incidents just happened with the family, and I really don't want to worry my parents and such so yeah..

You probably sprained your ankle in the fall.

Leg cramps are the result of having a salt deficiency - which means that you don't drink enough water, either.

Water and salt go hand-in-hand like peanut butter & jelly and a couple of guys in San Francisco. When you don't drink enough water, the cells don't get the nutrients they need, and so they start to malfunction. Eventually, the organs or muscles associated with these cells begin to malfunction as well.

You need to increase your water and salt intake. Stop drinking any soft drinks or other water substitutes that you may be drinking - these rob you of the water your body needs.

Drink at least 8 - 10 glasses of water per day (8 oz glasses) and dissolve 1/8 tsp of salt on your tongue for every 16 oz of water you drink.

This will solve your problem.



ouch! sounds like it wasnt your day. it could have been a trapped nerve, if it isnt bothering you now then you should be fine, the ankle might have been sprained because of the fall, just take it easy and tell your parents about it and ask to see your doctor.

Your right ankle had to do with your fall and not directly because of the cramping incident. If you had your leg crossed when you were napping on the bus you simply could have cut off the circulation to your legs especially if you got up right away not allowing the circulation to flow back into your legs . Dehydration as well as as imbalance of electrolites-calcuim potassium and magnesium can create leg cramps. Watch and see if and when it happens again before you "jump" to conclusions.
