Are you tense? Do you find yourself holding your shoulders up toward your ears? A lot of people carry their stress in their neck and shoulders. Get a therapeutic massage and see if that helps. If you are a person who is 'tightly wrapped', you might need some medication to help you relax.

If this is not the case, go to your doctor to make sure it's not a viral infection.

When you do not exercise your muscles including your neck, yes your neck. The muscle become tight and weak and cause pain. You need to search on the Internet for some neck stretching exercises. These exercises should be simple, quick and done daily. When you find a program you like make sure the instructions are clear and that they have a picture of each exercises before you do them. This will prevent injuries and additional pain. If these exercises are done routinely it will lessen your pain. Do not do any exercises suggested on this site as they do not have pictures.

Maybe u are sulking at ur neck or u have scolliosis or maybe diagnosed with it. Also, bad posture at the computer may cause u to hurt ur neck. Good posture is always important though wheter it is walking or whatever. And finally, try to drink milk if u feel u have low calcium/phosphorite.

bad posture..? maybe too many pillows, lol
