I hurt my back somehow...?!


Question: I hurt my back somehow...?
I think it was injured mostly by sleeping wrong, or maybe when I went walking on the ground (which I'm not used to). It doesn't feel muscular though - it feels like it's right in my thoracic vertebra. It's pretty painful. Ibuprofen seems to make the pain go away, but aside from that and heat, what else can I do? Should I be concerned about anything else? And what's something I can do to prevent this from happening again?

Oh, and I guess I should mention that I'm not overweight. I'm just pretty sedentary. D=

Answers:

Many back injuries can be prevented by building your core muscles. But I wouldn't suggest starting until your back is starting to feel better without the pain killers. Then, my sitting straight up in a chair while eating, or holding the pushup position for increasing intervals of time. Nothing to strenuous, just enough to work your core muscles.
