I'm tired and sleepy all day, but when I get into bed i can't sleep.?!

Question: I'm tired and sleepy all day, but when I get into bed i can't sleep.?
This has been going on for a couple weeks. I get into bed by 10 but I can't sleep till 1am. Then I have to wake up at 6am. I'm tired all day then I get into bed and can't sleep, and the cycle begins again.

What's wrong with me?

Answers:

Try staying awake and you will fall asleep

Try excersing before you go to bed. Also try listening to calm music/meditation music, i find this to help me calm my mind and help make me fall asleep. Have Pandora radio play this type of music (just type in meditation in new station), it can either be up on your computer or if youhave an ipod touch have it play on that too. You can find cds/itunes music too for this type.
These are the only two things that i can think of that can help with sleep.

It can be your diet too, so try to change it some, and dont drink cafinated drinks before bed. I know that you can take medicine for insomia too.

Being unable to switch off at bedtime is a very common problem.

Common sleep aids include warm milk, Chamomile tea, 5-HTP, Melatonin and Valerian.

If you are having trouble switching off at bedtime some light exercise at bedtime often helps you to relax, unwind and switch off and that often improves your sleep. Strenuous exercise at bedtime is likely to ruin your sleep.

The same thing happens to me too! I have insomnia. I take a couple of benadryl sometimes and my friend takes melatonin (she has insomnia as well.) It helps but make sure you get like 9 hrs of sleep or its difficult to function the next day.

Also my doctor told me that stress+unhealthy eating can keep you up O.o

insomniac

Diabetes makes you feel extra tired, especially after eating. Avoid sugar.
Get the a1c test.
it also messes with your sleep.

Idk I'm a lesbian so I'm always sleepy

Think if there is anything you are getting out of staying up.
e.g. do you like laying awake thinking, or fantasizing
