Can damaged cartilage heal ?!

Question: Can damaged cartilage heal ?
Answers:

Cartilage is essentially avascular tissue, which means that blood doesn't run through it. This means that damage to cartilage can take a long time to heal as nutrients have to diffuse through which takes a while.
You might find that a knock to the damaged area, even two months after the injury, will hurt; but after that you should be fairly alright (depending on extent of damage of course).
But damaged cartilage is known to be more painful than broken bones, so I'm not jealous of that at all!:P
