My throat hurts real bad?!

This may sound wierd, but get a small salt shaker and tip a tiny pinch of salt on the back of your tongue but make it far enough back so you can't taste it, then don't swallow it let it dissolve and that should help kill the backteria, also use pain killers and you can get sprays from the chemist thats numb your throat so you don't feel the pain, although they can be extremly uncomfortable.

Your neck muscles are tight and pressing into your throat to make it sore. Freeing up your neck muscles takes the pressure off your throat along with the pain. Here's how to free up your neck muscles for your relief:

Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about one minute, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Gargle with warm salt water- use a neti pot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neti_pot). If you have nasal drip at all, it will help you TREMENDOUSLY. Salt water is a cure all when it comes to sore throats. But if it's allergy related, the neti pot will help (warm salt water in the pot).
