I have a severely sprained ankle, should I be walking?!

Question: I have a severely sprained ankle, should I be walking?
I have crutches and an ankle brace, It has been a week, and when the injury first happened I couldn't walk at all. Now I am able to walk but with pain. Should I ignore the pain and keep walking or keep using my crutches until there is no pain?

Answers:

no you need to keep off it for at least til you see a dr. i would see your regular dr and or a orthopedic. i severely sprained my ankle and i had a half cast/splint thing and crutches for 5 days and then i went to an orthopedic dr and he just took the splint and put me in a special brace. i would do as the say cause if not it could lead to worse problems like mine did. mine lead to ankle ligament reconstructive surgery because i tore my ligaments and they never healed right.

my right ankle
