Question: Nurofen Plus / Codeine withdrawal symptoms?
Any help / tips would be a great help for me to get a better understanding of why he is the way he is now .

Well,when it comes to opiate addiction....some people/many people can take years to fully recover from the effects from the drug use/abuse.I suggest that you advise your husband to possibly get into some kind of support group on your area.The longer he just sits around doing nothing...the higher probability he might use/abuse again.By him getting a decent amount of support from others in the same situation as himself...the odds of him staying sober are much higher.He needs an outside source...an outlet with other people who are also addicts/abusers/users,and who have been in the same/similar situation as he.
Your husband is still young enough to enjoy his life...why not offer to go to those meetings/groups with him.This would offer him additional support and he wouldn't feel so alone and isolated or maybe even embarrassed.Some men get that way.
This is my advice to you,and I really hope your husband can maintain his sobriety.It's going to take a lot longer until he starts feeling like 'his old self' again.
