My daughter sore throat and stuffy nose help! 10 points!?!

Question: My daughter sore throat and stuffy nose help! 10 points!?
So 2 days ago, my daughter had a really stuffy nose and coughed a lot. She was not sick, also that night she had really itchy eyes. The next day she had a sore throat and stuffy nose. Her eyes were not itchy but she did cough still. Last night, she couldn't sleep because of her nose and whenever she swallowed, her throat hurt. Today, her stuffy nose is a bit better and so is her throat but she still has the stuffiness and mild soreness in her throat. Does she have spring allergies? She never was like this before? I suppose it is a cough, but can you tell me what it is? And how to treat it? Thank you so much.

Answers:

It sounds as though she has a straightforward common cold. It should get better in a week, and doesn't need any medication, but rest, plenty to drink and the occasional paracetamol are all that are needed.

It cannot be sinusitis or common cold, she is having an infection or allergic.
Sent her to a doctor to identify the cause and treatment rather than self medication..

A stuffy nose, otherwise known as a nasal congestion, sinus infection, or simply the sniffles, is caused by inflamed blood vessels in the membranes lining the inside of your nostrils, usually due to the flu, cold, or allergies. When the tissues become swollen, it blocks the normal passage of fluid through your nasal pathways.

Salt water can help ease sinuses and reduce the need for pain medication. Breathe in salt water to clear sinuses, use a nasal saline spray (unmedicated salt water) or use a neti pot.

Try to blow your nose as little as possible. Every time you do, it irritates the nose.

Lying on your side helps clear one side of a blocked nose. For example, lying on your left side can help clear your right side of the nose. Although this is only temporary.

Try using different nasal sprays to relieve a stuffy nose. The mist works really well and doesn't go down your throat. You can find these at grocery stores, and drug stores too. However, keep in mind that these are for very short term use only, since you can become addicted on them with prolonged use.
