What could this knot on my neck be?!
Question: What could this knot on my neck be?
I have a soft pliable lump on the right side of my neck. Its located really low on the neck close to collarbone. If u lean your head to the side its in the crevice. Hard to describe. It doesn't hurt at all other than a mild burning sensation if I touch the area to much. There are times when I feel my neck and it feels like its gone.. I also notice it tends to bulge out more when im up moving supposed of laying down. I went to ER and dr said it wasn't a lymph node and there was no hard mass..its soft. He wants me to watch it and see if it goes away and see my regular dr which I am doing asap on Monday. He mentioned possible bite or inflammation. It doesnt look like a bite to me. What does this sound like? Im scared.

Since you are going to see your doctor soon, I could only assume that it is a cyst since it does not hurt, but you are so conscious of it you are probably rubbing it often and that is irritating both the lump and the skin around it. If it is a cyst, it is probably minor in nature but only you doctor could diagnose it properly.
