i have real bad back and neck pain, help?!
Question: I have real bad back and neck pain, help?
i dont know if any of that will have an affect with what i am about to ask
but i have a really horrible habbit/addiction of twisting and popping my neck and my back
i do it a lot, in the morning and at night before bed, all throughout the day just literally all the time.
to pop my back i just sit and i twist to the left and the right as hard as i can until something pops and to pop my neck i just tilt my head to the left and the right and push upwards until something pops.
well now i have a sharp pain in my lower lower back, right in the middle on my spinal cord i dont know if it is my spinal cord but thats where i feel the pain and it sometimes hurts to walk, or bend, basically to move, but mostly walk and my neck isnt in horrible pain, but every once in a while it does hurt but not as horrible as my back. i told my mom but she says i have back pain because i am "overweight"
do you think this is because i pop my back to much? have i messed up back? should i go see a doctor?
OK, just because you can "pop" your back does not mean that you are "popping" it in the right direction. You can be making the problem worse by doing this.
I would recommend that you ask your parents to take you to see a chiropractor. They should be able to easily correct your issue. I have seen many cases like yours and all of them were able to be helped.
I really wish you the best. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
I'm a chiropractor
there is only one thing you can do. stop cracking yourself immediately and permanently. get your upper neck professionally corrected. see an hio method upper cervical specific chiropractor.
Most people with tight muscles will do the popping or whatever it takes to free up the muscles so they are freer. The tight muscles are a step below becoming pinched to be giving you pain, and is why you don't notice the problem except it feels good to pop. You have take the tight muscles and got them pinched now to be in pain. To get rid of the pain in your back you have to free up the muscles in your back and here's how to free them up:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
Your neck muscles are also tight so freeing them up will get rid of the problems in those muscles. Here's how to free up your neck muscles for your relief:
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about one minute, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds. For both- for best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
