I think I may go to the eye doctor in a month or so...?
I'm 13 and I had great eyesight a few years ago. The last time I went to the eye doctor was I think two years ago, and that was when I had fair vision. He said to come back when I was 14, but I'm getting worried. I can't read signs far away anymore. I can't make anything out of it. Even standing about 15 feet away from my television, I can't read some things on it. I think my mom is going to make an appointment, but I'm wondering if he will let me get contacts, (if I need anything, but I think so) but I've never had anything before. Would he make me get glasses first? (Which I don't want, I don't think I'd look good in glasses.) And if I do get contacts, are they hard to use?

Don't worry hun, you DO need lenses and they have no problems with you going with the contacts first-- tell your mom how bad your vision is so you can get their quicker--soft lenses are very easy to use and take care of--just make sure you listen to the doctor and follow the instructions and DO NOT SLEEP WITH THEM IN---
the other thing is make sure you throw out your mascara every 3 months--most women forget that the mascara wand is a breeding ground for bacteria and can cause eye infections--and I don't want you getting an infection from the start so throw out your old stuff and get new with your new lenses............good luck to you.........you'll love them and you'll love seeing clearly again---it's awesome!!!
