My contacts hurt ?!

My contacts hurt ?

i have always used contacts with complete confort and right now im on vacation in france. i opened new contacts yesterday and even thou they were the same contacts i always they were really hurting my eyes so much that i took them out. i tried wearing them again today and they still hurt. i checked the expiry date and theyre fine. since im on vacation i cnt get new contacts and i hate glasses. what has happened??

p.s. i went swimming a couple of times without goggles. could it be because i have chlorine in my eyes??

Every pair is slightly different - probably curvature is slightly different than last pair you wore. I don't think swimming with your eyes open would do it, but I guess it's possible your eyes are irritated. You don't say whether they are uncomfortable because they burn or if they feel like a bad fit (rubbing). Don't take chances with your eyes - suck it up and wear your glasses until you get home and can exchange your contact for a fresh pair.
Always bring 2 pair on vacation - or at least keep the old ones until you are sure the new ones fit properly.
