I had problems with very dry eyes for years and years. Finally an eye doctor gave me some advice that worked great. I have not had dry eyes in two years.

Get a clean washcloth, or large gauze squares used to put over a cut. Soak them in very very warm water, but not so hot that you will burn yourself. Place the warm, damp material over both of your closed eyes for several minutes.

Then get the cloth wet again in the very warm water. Rub the warm cloth back and forth along your eyelid very vigorously. (Rub at the base of your eyelashes.) Rub back and forth maybe 8 times.

Wet the cloth and repeat this rubbing on each of your eyelids, When you are done, rinse your eyes with warm water.

This loosens up tiny stuff that blocks your tear ducts, and also helps to release the body's natural oils which live along your lids.

Do this procedure every day, in the shower or bath, or when you brush your teeth. Some people do this every day for two weeks and never have to do it again, others have to do it a couple of times a year, still others have to do it regularly all their lives, but it is worth it it is such a relief!
