My eye is swelling--help!!!?

hi! yesterday i noticed that my right eye (the lower lid) swelled a bit in one spot. I put some ice on it in the night for some time but after i slept and woke up I noticed that it swelled up even more!

i wear contacts but recently i didn't wear any contacts though and just wore glasses. So, I don't think it's that.

But I wonder if me constantly on computer is the problem (I'm studying comp sci so working constantly these days). But I'm not sure.

I told my friend abt the swelling yesterday and she said that it might due to the heat that it swelled and she told me to put ice on it and it will go away in couple of days.

But I'm afraid now after the increased swelling. Please help!

hmm actually when i pulled down the lid it was verrrryyyyy red (blood red) all over the lid area but when i pulled down the lid of my left are it was red but was normal color.

and when i close my eye and stuff, i get small pain but nothing to go ouch abt tho. and yesterday i noticed that my eye watered a bit sometimes.

i recently had a cold but by day before yesterday it went away.

this is most likely not a medical emergency IMO. you probably do not need to go to the E.R. on the 4th of July for this. IMO it can probably wait until thurs unless its really, really bothering you or if your eye itself gets red (not just the eyelid) or painful, etc.

i personally think this sounds more like a form of stye than it does "conjunctivitis", although obviously w/o seeing you its really hard to tell.

try massaging it and warm compresses. cant hurt, and may help you. if it doesnt get better, see an eye doctor.

this is definitely *not* caused by "constantly" being on the computer. computer use does not cause any eyelid problems.
