My eyes is getting worst, is it the computer?!

Question:

My eyes is getting worst, is it the computer?

In 2002, doctor told me, my eyes are great but I just need glasses for reading because my eyes get blurry at times.

2003, we got a computer, I spent pretty much my whole day on the computer since all these years until now.

So, I went back to the doctor in 2006, he told me that my eyes got really worst and I need to wear my new glasses all of the time.

I'm scared to go back to the doctor this year because what if he writes me a new glasses.

Is it being on the computer all day that is making my eyes get worst? It's not use stopping the computer now because I can't see clear without my glasses now.

Is there a hope for me that my eyes can see clear without glasses?

Answers:

Sounds like 'near point stress'. You basically should not be using your distance lenses for upclose work, otherwise this cycle of getting stronger lenses will continue. Ask your optometrist if you can use a weaker set for upclose (computer) work. If you wear contacts, ask if you can get some reading glasses that will make the contact lenses weaker (minus lenses). Also, be sure to give your eyes a break by focusing on far objects througout the day.

You can be free of glasses, but it is a lot of work. A recommended book "Take off your glasses and see". You can also try those contact lenses that you wear at night to reshape your cornea. But be sure to resolve this near-point stress issue.
