Question:
I notice a shadow on the nose side of my right eye. When I look at my nose it goes away. what is it?
The shadow is like a cresent moon shape and not real dark but kind of like clear jelly. At night when I move my eye back and forth a flash goes down the edge of the arc. I went to my optometrist and she examined my eyes and said it's a floater and it might go across my field of vision. I have floaters and this one is different. I have been wearing soft contacts for 30 years. Can anyone help me with this problem.

If it were me I would see a Retinal ophthalmologist ASAP. A new black curtain or veil over any part of your vision can indicate a retinal detachment. Your best prognosis is being seen sooner rather than later.
The Dr I work for tells his patients "95% of the time floaters are just the seperation of jelly in the back of the eye, 5% of the time they are something to woory about"
Hopefully you fall into the 95% range
