Why are there brown, blue, green ,hazel eyes etc based on medical science perspective?

Are there specific differences among the different colors?

Answers:

Hello there! Your eye color is determined by the distribution and amount of pigment (melanin) on the iris fibers of your eye. If the iris has pigment on the back and front surface then the incident light reflected off of your iris is brown. When there is little or no pigment on the front surface of the iris The light interacts with the gray iris fibers and reflects as blue.
The size and spacing of the fibers and stromal cells determines the "blueness" or "greenness' of the reflected light. When people have less pigment on the back surface of their iris it allows light to reflect back from the retina which appears as red. The red color interacts with the blues and browns to create aqua and violet iris colors.

So basically eye color is determined by the amount and distribution of melanin in your iris!
