It spread from one eye to the other. I'm wondering how I can make my eyes healthy again---the really effective methods.

If you've been to the doctor and they gave you a prescription for a drop to use, then that's pretty much it. This is why you should ALWAYS ALWAYS have a pair of back-up glasses when you wear contacts because you just never know when you'll need them...and now you're hosed because you cannot wear you contacts and you have no glasses to fall back on.
I'm afraid that your best bet is to get some inexpensive specs to wear (if money is an issue) until the pink eye clears up. Either that or walk around without anything on. Either way, you NEED glasses in case this ever happens again...
