Is it true that eyes are not developed enough for contacts around age 14?!

Question:

Is it true that eyes are not developed enough for contacts around age 14?

I want to get contacts but my parents say I'm too young. They say that my eyes are not developed enough for contacts. Is that true?

Answers:

I was 10 when I first started wearing contacts. It depends on how parents perceive your responsibility level. The eye is actually developed prior to us being born. How young a person is when they get contacts is a mutual agreement between patient, parents, and eye doctor, more likely based on the responsibility level of the patient and that the pros of wearing contacts outweigh the cons.
