What will happen to a contact-wearer if they do not take out their contacts whil!

Question:

What will happen to a contact-wearer if they do not take out their contacts while sleeping?

Sleeping meaning for the night, not just a nap.
I would like to know the correct term with what will happen to the eyes, if possible, but if not just a good description will be fine. ^..^ Thanks, all!

Answers:

Well if you sleep in contact lenses that are not designated for this purpose you will increase the risk for infection and deprive your cornea of oxygen which can cause corneal hypoxia. This can cause damage and cause many problems like a corneal ulcer, corneal infiltrate, serious infection, corneal neovascularization and GPC...just to name a few! This damage can result in inability to wear contact lenses and even loss of vision in more serious cases!! Anyways it is best to avoid these complications and just wear your contact lenses as recommended by your doctor!
Anyways hope this helps a bit :)
