Could I have a parasite in my eye?!

Question:

Could I have a parasite in my eye?

A lot of the time it feels as if something is crawling on the front of my eyeball. My vision does not get blurred or anything and when I go to look in the mirror I don't see anything but I know that something has got to be there. As soon as I feel it I get this tickling feeling and if I don't start rubbing my eye it will keep moving and my eyes will start watering but if I rub my eye then it starts to burn for a couple moments after. Does anyone know what wrong with my eyes?

it's funny that one of you mention my eyelashes because I am finding them loose around my eyes but not in my eyes.

Answers:

Unless you have been out of the country or eaten tropical food , or meat not cooked all the way , it is highly unlikely that you have a parasite. More than likely you have trachisis. It sounds bad but all it means is that your eyelashes are growing toward your eye instead of away from it. Have your eyes checked by an optometrist or ophthalmologist. They can either pluck out the offending lashes or laser them off. In the mean time you can use artificial tears (not Visine!!) to keep the lashes from scratching your cornea. Good Luck!!!
