I've had blepheritis for over 4 months; is there any antibiotic to clear this up!

Question:

I've had blepheritis for over 4 months; is there any antibiotic to clear this up?

I have been to an otometrist; he just gave me "liquid tears" to put in 4 times a day.

Answers:

Unfortunately blepharitis is a condition that antibiotics won't do any thing for. Your optometrist should have educated you on this. Lid hygiene is of utmost importance and must be done daily. When you shower use a CLEAN washcloth, dab a little baby shampoo on it, close your eyes and gently clean your lids. Both upper and lower. You can also purchase SteriLid or OCuSoft lid scrub at any drug store. Liquid tears should help to keep your eye moist and comfortable. Web MD has a good site for this condition you should check it out.
