What is the best way to help get rid of stye in your eye?!

Question:

What is the best way to help get rid of stye in your eye?

Answers:

A hot compress can help relieve the pain and also might help
get rid of the infection. To create a compress, take a piece
of material (such as a cotton ball) and heat it in hot water.
It needs to be as hot as can be managed comfortably, without
being so hot as to burn the skin. The material is then placed
on the eyelid for several minutes, until it cools, then it is
replaced with another compress. Do this several times a day.

If the stye doesn't go away in a few days, see your doctor.
Antibiotic ointments may be needed, and, sometimes, the per-
son will need oral antibiotics. In some cases, the stye
needs to be opened up (lanced) by a doctor, if it doesn't
heal by itself.

Do not squeeze a stye - ever. Never try to squeeze the pus
out of a stye. If the stye is not ready to burst, the infec-
ted pus may be squeezed into the tissue next to the stye,
causing the infection to spread further.

To prevent the spread of infection, do not touch, rub, or
squeeze the stye. Dispose of used compresses in the garbage,
so that others do not have to touch it. Also, wash your
hands frequently.
