how do u now? or if ur losing ur sight? and wat are resons people lose some vision or go blind?
Answers:
The first clue to vision loss will be a decrease in how well you see, how much you see, and if there is a sudden or gradual progression.
There are a huge variety of eye conditions, not to mention injuries, to the eye that can cause vision loss. You may not go totally black sight blind...in fact, in most of the cases I've seen, it's a decrease in the visual acuity or visual field.
Parts of the eye that can have a problem causing vision loss would be: The retina (back of your eye), optic nerves (due to swelling or atrophy), cornea (due to haze or injury), lens (cataracts). Then there is congenital blindness...blindness of a person since birth that can either be a problem in the eye itself, or a problem in the sight part of the brain called the occipital lobes. Then there are other systemic conditions that can cause problems with the eyes: High blood pressure, high cholesterol, increased intracranial pressure, diabetes, and strokes.
If you have experienced a sudden loss of vision, sudden double vision, curtains, cobwebs, cloudiness (gradual or sudden), pain then you need to be checked out as soon as possible.
If it is just a gradual strengthening in your glasses/contacts prescription then that is something that needs to be monitored on a yearly basis.
