Okay so I got contacts a couple weeks ago...?!
Question:
Okay so I got contacts a couple weeks ago...?
So I get these contacts right, nbd, you'd think...
They were going in and out of my eye just fine, I couldn't feel them, it was a regular Acuvue commercial for about a week.
I went to the doctor, and he gave me a different pair because the old ones weren't sharp enough..
Last week was my friend's birthday, and we and a few other people had spent the night in a hotel and the next day we went to an amusement park for the day. I had put sunscreen on, went to the sink, washed my hands, and put my contacts in. My eyes were burning, so I put some drops in them. The redness went away, but they were still burning. I kept them in because I didn't want to wear my glasses.
For the next few days (this was on this past Thursday, it is now Sunday) I wore my glasses, simply because I didn't feel like putting my contacts in. Today I wore my contacts, but my eyes were still burning and red, just like they were on Thursday!
What is going on?? Is this serious??

I do clean my contacts every day, and I change the solution in the case too, whenever I get the contacts in my eyes and the case is empty.
This is getting to be a pain in the @$$

And I have slept with them in once but I honestly did not mean to fall asleep, so I didn't take them out. Is that why this is happening? That was like, two weeks ago..

You should definitely not have a burning sensation - as the the level of seriousness, it seems that you probably have not done any long term damage to yourself yet but you should stop using the lenses that cause a burning sensation and report what you've been experiencing to your optometrist.
The issue could be an allergy to the solution you're using - you could try switching brands. Also, the current pair of contact lenses may have somehow been contaminated. Perhaps you should try a new pair and double check expiration dates.
