Can you double layer contacts?!

Question:

Can you double layer contacts?

Ok, I have very bad vision and there are these non-medicated contacts with this style on them. Now i want them, but i wont be able to see so i'm wondering If i can were my regular contacts and then put these.

Now I know you've heard of a person putting their contact in early in the morning then after putting one in accidently put the other in the same eye. I've also done this before, but noticed and took them back out, the vision was only slightly blurred but thats because i had 2 medicated contacts on, and maybe because i was in a small bathroom and really couldnt look very far off. So just wondering if this is safe for occasions, and will the other contact stay in?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Answers:

No... do not wear your contact lenses like that! If you want contact lenses that are colored or have some sort of pattern on them you will need to go back to your doctor and get a new contact lens fitting for these "special" lenses with your prescription in them!
Double layering your contacts is not a good idea at all!!! If you had two contact lenses on top of each other this would be impairing the oxygen transmission to your cornea! A cornea deprived of oxygen can be susceptible to damage and infection! Not good!
Also... regardless if you are getting contacts with a prescription or not, you still need a contact lens fitting to ensure they fit properly. Contact lenses are a medical device and they need to be fit by an eye doctor! Buying random contact lenses just because they have a pattern on them is not a good idea. This could cause damage to your eyes.
So I think the best thing for you to do is to speak with your eye doctor about your options for patterned prescription contact lenses and go from there :)
