Help with taking my contacts out?!

Question:

Help with taking my contacts out?

i just got contacts three days ago. i had trouble taking out my left contact the last time i wore them (yesterday), even though i can put them in easily and take out my right one easily. however it took me a while to get my left one out, and my eye became red and irritated. i also noticed that when i managed to get it out that there was a red spot of blood on the white of my eye. this morning i woke up and the color has become lighter, but it has spread out. it doesn't hurt or anything, but i'm worried. what is this, and how long will it take to go away? should i wear my contacts or wait until it heals completely? and does anyone have any tips for taking out that troublesome left contact? (i'm right handed and use soft contacts, not the hard ones)

Answers:

I would not use your contacts until your eye heals. You probably scratched your eye while you were taking out your contact. It may get irritated if you keep using your contacts (which can sometimes trap bacteria). Wear your glasses for a couple of days and see how it heals and try not to touch it.

My contacts sometimes stick if my eyes are dry. In the future, try using some eye drops before you take out that left lens.
