Laser eye surgery?!

Question:

Laser eye surgery?

eye surgery is only for 18y/o above?
and its effect just temporary???

Answers:

You have to wait untill you're done growing. This is because as you grow the shape of your eye changes, so if you get the surgery at 15 or whatever by the time your body stops growing your eyes could be messed up again.

Most doctors say around 23ish, you'd have to ask them what minimum age they require.

The changes are permanent, however your eyes DO change slightly as you age. That's why people tend to get far sighted as they get older, it's usually a slow process.

The srugery basically "resets" your eye to the correct shape for (near) perfect vision. From there on any changes that occur, whether thru natural aging or whatever will effect your vision. If you get the surgery when you're very young there's a pretty good chance you'll need to go in and get a "touch up" at some point in your life.

These are all questions the laser surgery center will be happy to answer for you during the initial consultation which is almost always free. If I were you and serious about getting corrective laser surgery I'd go and see the doc and take their word for it as opposed to a bunch of people you don't know on the internet. :O)

Anyway, I got mine done almost 7 years ago now and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. It still amazes me from time to time that I can see stuff without my glasses!

One thing tho... if you do decide to get it done make sure you do a lot of research on the doctor you're considering to do it. Some have better success rates than others and you don't want to trust something as important as your vision to an idiot. Remember, doctors are people too and can make mistakes, you don't want to go to someone who makes a lot of mistakes. lol

Hope that helps.
