"bloodshot" eye(s)?!

Question:

"bloodshot" eye(s)?

Why after or during playing a game or using my computer for a few hours will my eye become bloodshot is there anything i can do to stop this? Also what caused this.

Answers:

Visual activities which cause the person to concentrate for prolonged periods of time can cause a decrease in the quality of your tears. When you watch a movie or read or work on the computer your brain tends to decrease the number of blinks per minute that your eyes perform. The purpose of blinking is to spread a new coat of lubricating tears across the surface of your cornea. Reducing the number of blinks therefore interferes with the eyes natural wetting system. This drying of the tear film is probably what is causing your redness. So, before you begin playing or working on the computer, use a good ocular lubricant and continue to put drops in every 15 minutes or so. This should help quite a bit. Hope this helps.

You might try Systane or maybe Refresh Tears. There are lots of good lubricants out there.
