Do you see coloured dots when you look at natural light sometimes?!

Question:

Do you see coloured dots when you look at natural light sometimes?

I've heard superstitious people call it fairy dust or angel dust and it means they're looking out for you or something? How does it work?

Answers:

What you are seeing is blood flowing through vessels in your retina and also loose stuff floating around in the vitreous, the jelly that fills up your eyeball. The less detailed the thing you're looking at (like a blue sky or a piece of white paper) the more visible these things are.
