I have a twitch in my left eye. Is this anything to be concerned about?!

Question:

I have a twitch in my left eye. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Could this be anything other than just a nervous twitch?

Answers:

probably myokymia, or benign, intermittent eyelid muscle spasm:

if it does not occur all the time and lasts less than 1 month, then you're fine. if it does occur 24/7 and lasts more than 30 days, its probably something else called "blepharospasm", which is caused by permanent facial cranial nerve damage.

treatment for myokymia is more sleep, less caffeine, less stress and topical (eyedrop) antihistamines

treatment for blepharospasm is usually botox injections.
