Is it conjunctivitis, blepharitis or neither?!

Question:

Is it conjunctivitis, blepharitis or neither?

Long story short, I took my 5 year old son to the doctor Wednesday after noticing his swollen upper eyelid. The doctor said it was blepharitis and I should wash his eyelid with baby shampoo and put a warm compress on it twice a day. I took him to a second doctor since I wasn't too confident in the 1st doctor diagnosis. The second doctor told me it was conjunctivitis (although his eye was not red/pink in color) and gave my son a prescription for eyedrops and amoxicillin. 2 days later, my son is back to normal BUT my upper eyelid is slightly swollen. It's not pink but hurts to look up or sideways. I also notice a light sensativity which is particularly noticeable outside where I see blurs/floaters. I took a few of the leftover drops and also some Omnicef I had leftover from when I had an ear infection. After 2 days, no improvements. Until July 1, I do not have insurance so would like to see if using the same things would work. Any ideas?

Answers:

NEVER EVER use left over eye drops or antibiotics. You need to go see an eye MD to get this checked because if you don't get it treated you can cause permanent eye damage. Go see a doc now and get it treated.
