How different is buying glasses from Wal-Mart than from an actual eye doctor?!

Question:

How different is buying glasses from Wal-Mart than from an actual eye doctor?

I had an eye exam at my eye doctor and bought a pair of glasses but I kind of want another pair. I guess I could buy them from the same place, but I started thinking about Wal-Mart. I'm thinking the price might be a big difference. Are there any other differences, like maybe with quality or anything else?

Answers:

No, really there is no difference. Depends on whether you need bifocals or just regular glasses, (single-vision). Prices are competitive or slightly less than an eye doctor or places like Sears and JC Penny.

The frames are about the same price as the eye doctor, you may save a few bucks. They have all different types of designer and regular frames at Wal-Mart.

The reason I know this is because I recently purchased a pair of eyeglasses at WM two years ago after buying them from mall eyeglass places, and Sears. They were slightly cheaper at WM. They'll give you a quote if you take your prescription in.
